About Lisa

Lisa discovered the sport of agility in Palm Beach County with her Golden, Sophie, in 2001. Since that time, she has gained experience training and competing in multiple agility venues including AKC, NADAC, USDAA and UKC. She has competed in the AKC Agility National Championships with both Sophie and her second Golden, Riley. In addition, Lisa and Sophie and her third Golden, Finnegan, earned the honorific of the Golden Retriever Club of America’s Agility Dog Hall of Fame. Finnegan also earned his first MACH at about the same time. Lisa and Finnegan actively competed in AKC with Agility, Obedience and Rally, attended USDAA trials when they could, and earned AKC MACH 2 in Perry, GA. Lisa's fourth Golden, Darcy, was listed on the Bad Dog Agility's Breed Power 10 as the #1 20" Golden Retriever for 2016.

After a move to the Sarasota/Bradenton area, Lisa joined the Sarasota Obedience Training Club where she began teaching agility and soon became the Agility Director for the club. During this time, Lisa followed the latest handling trends and was instrumental in developing a very successful agility program. After stepping down as the Agility Director, Lisa was invited to fill in and teach classes for Karen Holik during her absences. While at Karen’s facility, Lisa had the privilege of watching and working with many excellent dogs and handlers from the Tampa Bay Area.

Lisa has taught all levels of agility, has worked with a wide range of breeds and handler skill sets, and enjoys the challenge of finding the best options for each dog/handler team.

After another move to NW Florida, Lisa is now the Agility Instructor at Pets Behave in Niceville, Florida, where she teaches everything agility - from Puppy and Beginner through Advanced. Pets Behave now offers all levels of agility classes as well as the monthly Let's Focus on Friday Workshops. Lisa also meets students throughout the week for private lessons and has presented various-themed workshops in Mobile, AL; Pensacola, FL; Niceville, FL; Tallahassee, FL; Nashville, TN and Baton Rouge, LA.
